NEWEST POSTS ON THE TOP FOR ARCHIVES OF THE BLOG USE THE MENU TO THE RIGHT Why I Do Things Sometimes the things I do are beyond me. I signed up for 13WMAZ's web page. It's a place where you can blog, post pictures and make comments on news stories and events. (Side Note: Those comments are more frightening than a Stephen King novel.) I don't know if I've noticed, but I have this HUGE web site as well as Facebook, MySpace and (coming soon) SquareHive! How could I blog any more than I already am? Fear not, thrill seekers. I'll more than likely just copy things from here to there. posted on 7/21/2008 9:34:15 AM
Vatican Feeling The Pinch The word is out that the weak economy is effecting the finances of the Vatican. Twenty five percent of it's donations come from the USA. The word is that in Rome, alone, they've laid off 12 altar boys. posted on 7/17/2008 11:37:15 AM
Gerald Carper Plays Highlands At Highland Hills Baptist Church there is an organist named Gerald Carper. In the next week he will play a recital in Highlands, North Carolina. It's July 23d at the First Presbyterian Church at 2PM. On a Saturday, Gerald took me to his home church where I got to hear him play the selections from his forthcoming performance. Let's just say that what I know about music would barely fit on the tip of a Dorito compared to Gerald. But, he possesses the ability to easily explain complicated pieces and give them contemporary life. Not that they need any help from us. It's good to know that there are those who keep this incredible music alive with their talent and willingness to share it. posted on 7/17/2008 10:55:10 AM
Lapse In Posts I've never had this kind of pause from one blog to another. Here's where I've been. It was supposed to be the week that we would attend a family reunion at Fripp Island. Actually, these pictures are on Facebook as my answer to William and Emily's voluminous beach pictures. They are far more photogenic than I am. Do they make a "mountain scene" that I can use for my Christmas Card? This was fun because it reminded me of my old Christmas Card days. Back in the 70's I would create a strange Christmas card to send to folks with my picture on it. Too easy now with Photoshop and printers.

Holiday Weekend Busy does not begin to describe my life. First of all, many of my clients finally realised that July 4th is Friday and work came flooding in. That's a good thing. Next, I went to evening prayer at St. James last night. I hadn't been in so long they had changed the service from the "hippy dippy" one they were using. I guess that was in honor of George Carlin's passing. posted on 7/3/2008 8:42:57 AM
